Event Registration

The University of Arkansas Bookstore's special event service is free for all campus departments. All events include:

  • Book sales before, during, and after the event. This includes cash, check, and credit/debit card transactions with receipt. Our employees will arrive 15-30 minutes before the event starts, setup table displays, and begin taking sales until the signing ends. Depending on the publisher the Bookstore may be able to offer a slight discount of up to 10% to event attendees.

  • Organization of author signings during events. After the main event is over our employees will organize an author signing according to what the author is most comfortable with. This typically includes line and name management and providing pens and sharpies for the author.

  • In-store and on-line marketing:
    • In-store event displays featuring custom signage created by the Bookstore Marketing department.
    • Social media posts on Twitter and Facebook.
    • Campus promotion through Newswire and the Bookstore website.

Optional services like charitable donations and additional marketing opportunities are available on a case by case basis.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • The Bookstore requires a minimum of two weeks notice to participate in author events. A month or more is preferred. Publishers often take 5-10 days to ship books for events and there are several marketing deadlines that must be met. If your event will be sooner than two weeks, the General Books department may still be able to help on a case by case basis. Please fill out the form below and contact trade@uark.edu for more information if your event date is within two weeks.

  • The Bookstore does not provide tables for events and they must be provided by the department hosting the event. Typically an event will need 1-2 tables depending on the author's preference. One table is fine if the author does not mind sharing with the Bookstore sales team. Two tables are recommended for larger events in order to properly stagger lines during the author signing. The Bookstore will bring its own table cloths to the event.

In order to begin, please fill out the fields below to the best of your ability. After receiving your submission a General Books employee will contact you through email to confirm your event registration.
